QYL x QLS x LCA Present: National Golden Gavel

✨ The 2025 National Golden Gavel is coming to Brisbane!✨

Queensland Young Lawyers, in partnership with the Queensland Law Society, are thrilled to invite you to join us for the National Golden Gavel on 21 November 2025.

This prestigious event, presented by the Law Council of Australia Young Lawyers’ Committee, provides an opportunity for the country’s funniest lawyers to showcase their advocacy and comedy skills, with each given five minutes to argue their case on a far-fetched legal topic – revealed only 24 hours beforehand. Yes, that’s right, the funniest lawyers from every state and territory will descend on Brisbane to fight it out for the title of Australia’s funniest lawyer and we want you to be there!

Set against the stunning cultural backdrop of the Gallery of Modern Art, the National Golden Gavel will also recognise the outstanding contributions of young lawyers and young lawyer organisations as we announce the winners of the 2025 Australian Young Lawyer Awards.
